2014, a year in the crazy world of a wedding photographer. It’s not long until I shall be getting back in to the saddle to start photographying my first weddings of the year. I really can’t wait to get going but before I move forward I wanted to take a look back. It seems life fly’s by so quickly, looking back at some of these weddings, they seem like only yesterday. I got to meet and work with some incredible souls in 2014 and not only that I got to be a part of what was one of the most important days of their lives. More than anything I feel privileged to know that in the years to come they will be able to look back at the moments you see below and smile. That’s what this job is all about. For me and my family 2014 was a hard year. It was the year I lost my mum to cancer. I miss her. I walked up three mountains in a day to try and forget for a moment and to try and raise some money for the wonderful nurses who helped look after her when she was ill (you can donate to that cause here if you wish) . Nothing can save you from that kind of pain but 2014 was also the year I found out I was going to be a dad for the third time. I guess that is life, right there in all it’s colours. Life, love, grief, birth, hope. Photography, music, the mountains, my family. The things that found their way in to my life in 2014 and the things I used to try and make sense of them. I capture life, that is my job, it’s what I love to do, every time I click the shutter on that box of wires and glass that is my aim, to capture it honestly, I hope when you look at the images below you can see that. So, to all the wonderful people who let me in to their lives for that special day I want to say thank you, and to all those getting married in 2015 I say BRING IT ON!!
This is for my mum, I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for her.
