It’s a funny thing but it really doesn’t matter how many weddings I photograph I always feel incredibly nervous whilst waiting to hear what the couple think of their wedding photos, it’s always been that way. My wife Claire recognizes it in me every time. I kind of go a bit quiet, keep checking my e-mails every 5 minutes, “stop worrying, it’ll be fine, they’ll love them” she says to me, but until I hear it from the couple themselves I really can’t help myself. Having spoke to other wedding photographers it’s a trait I think many of us share and to a degree it’s a good thing, it stops me being complacent, it drives me to push myself on and give every wedding everything I can.  But as much I dislike that feeling, I always forget it instantly as soon as I receive an e-mail like this.

“Hi Paul,

Just to let you know we have the photos. Wow! They are amazing. Truly awesome and beautiful colours! Thank you so so much! My favourites are the ones in the orchard. Good call! The slideshow is a lovely keepsake. Looking at them, brings it all back. It really as the best day and I am so glad we had you to capture it!

Should we ever require a photographer again, you would be our first and only choice. We will be highly recommending you. It seems that it may have already worked! My sister I think would like you to do some family photos of them all.

You are very talented Paul and it was so great to have you there. We wouldn’t have had it any other way.
