I was really looking forward to Nadiya and Marc’s wedding at The Old Kent Barn, not least because we share the exact same taste in music. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s always room for a bit of Dancing Queen at a wedding but as a kid of the 80’s and 90’s it’s pretty awesome to hear a Blur song whilst I’m working!
As a wedding photographer I see a lot of emotion, it’s what I’m there to capture after all. Nadiya had seemed pretty calm as she was getting ready in the morning. She’s that kind of person, easygoing, fun to be around, Marc the same, it’s probably one of the reasons they fell in love. But there was a moment, just after she had put on her dress when the emotion of her wedding day just hit her, I saw it in her eyes. As she fought back the tears it was pretty amazing to see how Nadiya’s sister just calmly talked to her and helped her keep things together. There’s always a moment at each wedding you photograph that seems to stick in your mind, that was the moment.
A massive congratulations to Nadiya and Marc from me. The wedding season is starting to slow down but I still have some awesome weddings to share with you so please come back soon!
