Odo's Barn

Odo’s Barn is a breath taking 15th century barn situated in the village of Bilsington near Ashford and has been beautifully restored to provide what is in my opinion one of the best wedding venues in Kent in 2023 . Lovingly restored by owners Charlotte and Robert the venue has a real rustic yet elegant feel to it which I really love. When you add to that the beautiful surroundings and all the amenities you could need it really is a great option for your wedding day!

The Location

The barn is situated in the village of Bilsington, approximately a 1 hour drive from London with the closest railway station is Ham Street Station, approximately a 7 minute drive away. The closest main town is Ashford which is approximately 20 minutes drive away and has lots of accommodation options available for your guests if needed.

The Space

The Barn

Odo’s Barn provides an incredible space for a wedding celebration. The barn is licensed to hold a legal ceremony and there is plenty of room for up to 100 day guests and 150 guests for the evening. Tables and chairs are all included in the price! There’s a lovely rustic bar area and the venue is fully licensed to serve alcohol. One of the stand out features of Odo’s Barn is the beautiful distinctive gold chandeliers, this combined with a huge fairy light curtain at the end of the barn, really adds to the rustic yet elegant aesthetic of the venue which makes a perfect spot for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.

Covered Terrace and Courtyard

The barn opens up onto a covered terrace which provides a lovely shaded seating area for you and your guests throughout the day. There’s also an outside bar and a seated area in the courtyard which if the weather is nice is absolutely perfect for you and your guests to enjoy your wedding drinks reception in the sun. 

There’s a glorious weeping willow tree with a rope swing attached which always goes down a hit with the kids (and some adults!) on the day. The courtyard also provides the perfect spot for a good old confetti throw!

The Meadow 

As you follow the courtyard area around it opens up onto a gorgeous meadow overlooking fields of Romney Marsh. There’s a seating area with a fire pit here for people to relax next to Odo's Barn’s very own moat! What more could you ask for!!

St Peter and St Paul Church in Bilsington

A great advantage of Odo’s Barn is it is situated next door to a lovely church should you want a religious service. It’s literally a 30 second walk through the meadow to Odo's Barn and as such is a perfect option should that be your preference.

Odo’s Barn - Your Wedding Photography

The Barn is surrounded by quintessentially beautiful Kent countryside. Overlooking Romney Marsh and with a meadow area it provides a stunning backdrop for a relaxed wedding day as well as some amazing spots to capture some great photos. I quite like to just go for a walk with my couples to be able to capture those relaxed, natural feeling portraits of the two of you and Odo’s Barn really provides the perfect location for that. As the sun goes down in the evening across  the surrounding fields it’s a wonderful sight.

All in all, the location combined with a great team and the rustic yet elegant aesthetic of the whole venue makes Odo's Barn an absolutely fantastic choice for your wedding venue!

Access to Odo’s Barn

Included in the price is access to Odo’s Barn the day before between 11:30 and 16:30 to decorate and get everything ready. The day after the wedding you and your suppliers are able to access the venue to collect any bits between 11:30 and 13:30.

Odo’s barn - Venue Capacity

Odo’s barn recommends between 80 - 100 people for your ceremony and wedding breakfast and up to 150 people for the evening celebrations.

Odo’s Barn - Car Parking and Disabled Access

In terms of disability access there is disabled parking which is right next to the barn, disabled toilets with wheelchair access and bay changing room. There is also a large amount of car parking available so none of your guests will be scrambling for a parking space!
