Natasha and Nick’s wedding was held in the lovely gardens of Squerryes Court. I still have absolute no idea how you pronouce Squerryes Court, is it squirys, squarys? who knows, but its pretty spectacular none the less : ) The day started in the grand surroundings of the Astor Wing at Hever Castle where Natasha, her mum and friends had spent the night. I arrived to what can only be described as a quintessential English morning, grey and wet! Yeah the weather was looking decidedly dodgy but hey we can’t control that so no need to worry! Some wedding mornings can be pretty hectic but this was nice and calm. As hair and make up was expertly provided by Sarah Rumsey and the awesomely named Stylicorn I went about getting those all important moments before the main event. Bride, Bridesmaids, mother of the bride all looking fabulous it was off to St Boltoph’s church for the wedding ceremony. Church rules said no photos but the vicar was totally charming about it so no problem, just one of those things you have to respect as a wedding photographer. The rain wasn’t going to let up so after the ceremony it was back to Squerryes Court for some much deserved Champagne. It’s this point you have to earn your keep as a wedding photographer. The rains coming down,you’ve got an hour window before dinner and then it’s dark, what are you going to do? The wedding reception is in a marquee provided by Camelot Marquees , it looks great but there’s nowhere to really take a photo in a packed marquee. Well grab your umbrellas and find some cool locations with a bit of cover that’s what you do! Natasha and Nick like all of my couples really cared about their photos, it’s one of the reasons I choose to work with people. So off we went for a quick 20 minute portrait session in the drizzle and the results were really worth it! After that dinner was a Host the Roast provided by Tayberry Foods , delicious and a good laugh as well as one person on each table was nominated host and donned their chefs hat to serve the other guests. Unfortunately the weather meant that a surprise Spitfire flyby for Nick organised by Natasha and her mum had to be cancelled but that didn’t stop the fun and laughs as Natasha’s mum, Nick and his best man all nailed their speeches! I had a great day with these guys, Squerryes Court provided  a great venue which on a drier day would be totally amazing. Natasha and Nick a huge congratulations from me!
